Batch 2 Machines and after:

With the new 2 piece boiler cap design, sometimes these foggy gauges can be fixed by tightening the screw under the boiler cap to further compress the o-ring that seals it. We recommend trying this first and giving it a week (though usually only a few days is necessary) to see if the issue resolves itself.

If tightening the hex bolt on the underside of the boiler cap does not resolve the issue after a week, you can order a free warranty replacement part with this link. You can add other items to your cart as well.

Tools required: 3mm hex key

💡 The wooden cap may expand slightly after multiple heat cycles, making it more difficult to remove and install the gauge. Don't hesitate to apply firm pressure on the back where the Allen key inserts to push it out.

Boiler Cap Not Clicking or Leaking

If your boiler cap does not make a positive click when in its final position or is leaking then its likely your boiler cap o-ring has worn is in need of replacement.

See this page for identifying which boiler cap you have and then you can place an order for a replacement. https://www.odysseyespresso.com/products/boiler-cap-o-ring

💡 The boiler cap may be slightly harder to screw in after installing the new O-ring.

We recommend applying a bit of Molykote to reduce friction. It will become easier to screw in after the O-ring settles through a few heat cycles.
