Packing Your Argos For Repair

We recommend using your original box and packing materials if they are still in good condition.

We have included steps / photos for packing your Argos in the original box and a generic box.

Notes

  1. Only ship the body of the machine.
  2. Do not ship the lever assembly. ⚠️
  3. Do not ship the boiler cap or portafilter. ⚠️
  4. The machine must lay flat on its side.
  5. The box should packed tightly so that nothing can shift inside to avoid shipping damages.

⚠️ You may include these items if they are required for the repair of your machine. They must be individually wrapped in bubble wrap with all metal and wood parts covered so that they do not come in contact with other parts.

Packing Supplies

  1. Heavy Duty Cardboard Box roughly 18" x 13" x 12"
    1. FedEx has a 18" x 13" x 11-3/4" heavy duty double walled box that is a good fit for this.
  2. Foam
  3. Bubble Wrap
  4. Packing Paper
  5. Packing Tape

Step 1: Prepare Your Machine

  • Remove all water from boiler

  • Take 6 pictures of the Argos that includes both sides, front, back, top and bottom and email them to us in your existing email thread with customer support.

⚠️ Do NOT include your accessories: lever, portafilter, gauge, transducer etc.

Step 2: Place Argos in Box for Shipping

If you still have your original packaging, skip to here

  • Place a substantial layer of bubble wrap, paper, and/or foam in the base of your box.

  • Consider using deconstructed cardboard boxes for added structure and support. Additionally, ensure that you place a lot of added foam, paper, or bubble wrap along the top, bottom, and sides of the machine. Again, you want to support the machine and create as little movement as possible within the box. You do not want to feel the machine move within the box once it is sealed.

If You Still Have Your Odyssey Box & Forms

  • If your original box and forms are structurally sound, please consider reusing them for repair shipment. You will want your box and forms to look something like this:

It is important that you pack the underside of the molded packaging with paper to support the machine so that it doesn’t crush the packaging. See this picture for an example.

  • Place your Odyssey Espresso Argos box in a larger box for shipping. We recommend 18 x 13 x 12. However, you will also want to place additional paper, bubble wrap, or foam on the sides and top of the smaller box. Prioritize the security of the smaller Argos box within the larger one and eliminate potential for the smaller box to shift around while in transit.

Step 3: Seal Your Box and Send to back To Odyssey Espresso

  • Once your machine has been securely packaged and wrapped within the shipping box.
