LEDs Light Tube Installation

Below are instructions to install the LED light tube kit on your Argos. We created this kit because the brew temp and steam LEDs were often burning out due to the heat soak from the top plate. This kit relocates the LEDs away from the top plate and uses silicone light tubes to transmit the light to the original housing.

LED Light Tube Kit Contents

  1. Spare Metal LED Housing ⚠️ Only for replacing damaged housings - keep the originals if possible
  2. Preassembled LED light tube assembly
    1. There is silicone caulk on the end of light tube to form a snug fit with the metal housing. Do not remove this caulk.

Step 1: Disassembly

Follow this video to remove the side panel on the side with the LEDs.

Step 2: LED Removal

Follow this video to start the removal of the LEDS

⚠️ Please try to remove only the LED while leaving the original housing in the top plate for reuse.

⚠️ Do Not cut the potentiometer, unless replacing.

When you get to this step pictured below, put your pliers on the blue part of the led and pull straight down rather than push up. This will remove the LED from the housing while keeping the housing in the machine. If you have a batch 2 machine it will likely be hard to remove just the LED from the housing, and the LED may break inside the housing. If that happens, please proceed to removing the housing like in the video and then use the spare housing provided in the kit.

Step 3: LED Installation

Insert the light tube in the existing metal housing that is already in the top plate by simply pressing into it. Once the light tube is pressed in, the metal housing needs to be lightly crimped (by using pliers) to hold the tube in .
